Protesters Clashed with Police; Free Pablo Hasél - Spain
UMMATIMES - Protesters clashed with Spanish Police, times demanded rapper Pablo Hasél be released, Pablo Hasél was arrested on charges of justifying terrorism and insulting the kingdom through his songs. Demonstrating in the capital Madrid, police opened fire tear gas, rubber bullets and sounded a bomb.
The demonstration began peacefully on the Plaza de Sol square. Protesters clapped in unison and chanted the slogans "no more police violence" and "free Pablo Hasel".
However, police used batons at the crowd after protesters began throwing glass bottles and stones. Some demonstrators responded by setting fire to containers to set up barricades in the narrow streets of Madrid.
As the Catalan protesters began throwing objects at the armored car, Mossos d'Esquadra took another action by firing rubber bullets as high as the heads of adults. When the rioting started, parts of the streets of Barcelona were blanketed in black smoke from burning trash cans.
On Thursday (18/2), the Catalan regional police, Mossos d'Esquadra tweeted, authorities have arrested 29 people in Barcelona, Lleida, Girona and Taragona. On Wednesday (17/2), Barcelona police also fired rubber bullets at the crowd, injuring a Reuters news agency reporter.
