Italy asks TikTok to tighten rules to protect children
UMMATIMES - Italian data protection authorities asked TikTok to tighten rules so that no children use the short video platform.
"The steps they have adopted have produced significant results, however, it is not enough," said the Italian authorities, quoted by Reuters on Thursday (13/5).
The agency asked TikTok to delete user accounts who were under 13 years of age within 48 hours and made an explanation that the application was not for children under that age.
TikTok is also asked to use artificial intelligence-based solutions to reduce the risk of children under 13 registering and using TikTok.
