King Salman condemns Israeli aggression on Jerusalem and Gaza

UMMATIMES - King Salman said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to reach out to all sides to pressure Israel's "occupying government".

As is known, on Friday (21/5), Saudi Arabia welcomed the declaration of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and appreciated Egyptian and international mediation efforts. This was conveyed by the state news agency (SPA), citing a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The statement also reiterated the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with allies to reach a resolution.

Egypt's efforts to mediate a ceasefire between Israel and Palestine went into effect on Friday morning. But unfortunately, in less than 24 hours, clashes between Palestinians and Israeli forces broke out again at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

According to an AFP reporter in front of the Al-Aqsa compound, police fired rubber bullets and stun grenades to disperse the demonstrators.

The clash in Al Aqsa two weeks ago, to be precise on May 7, also triggered the outbreak of fighting between Israel and Hamas. Since May 10, Israel has been battling Hamas rule in Gaza.
