Turkey-Made Vaccines Enter WHO List

UMMATIMES - The coronavirus vaccine developed by Turkish scientists has been included in the list of vaccines recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Director of the Turkish Scientific and Technological Research Council (TUBITAK) Prof. Hasan Mandal noted that this is the second Turkish-made vaccine to be included in the list after the previously recognized VLP vaccine.

"We are continuing to develop vaccine studies in Turkey," Mandal told Anadolu Agency.

According to him, seven of these studies are ongoing under Turkey's Covid-19 Platform.

Mandal said the inactivated vaccine developed at Erciyes University in Turkey has already completed the phase 2 study, while one more vaccine will soon begin phase 1 trials.
