India's New Covid-19 Case Reaches Lowest Rate
UMMATIMES - India recorded 114,460 new Covid-19 cases per day on June 5, 2021. This addition is the lowest number of new Covid-19 cases in India in the last two months.
"India reported 1.14 Lakh (114,460) daily new cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest in 60 days," India's Ministry of Health said in their official statement, as reported by the Anadolu Agency, Sunday (6/6).
Previously, India experienced a high daily spike in Covid-19 infections and deaths. Last month, the addition of new Covid-19 cases per day in India even reached 400,000 with deaths per day reaching 4,500 cases.
The total number of Covid-19 cases in India has now reached 28.8 million. Meanwhile, the total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country was recorded at 346,759.
Currently, the number of Covid-19 infections and deaths in India has begun to decline. In New Delhi, for example, new cases of Covid-19 have now reached their lowest rate of less than 1,000 cases per day.
India has also implemented a Covid-19 vaccination program for its citizens. This vaccination program is aimed at people aged 18 years and over. As of early Sunday, more than 230 million doses of vaccine have been distributed.
However, the vaccination program is still experiencing problems. Several states in India have reported shortages in the supply of Covid-19 vaccines.
