Nearly 900 New Yorkers Receive Expired Covid-19 Vaccine

UMMATIMES - Nearly 900 people received expired doses of the Covid-19 vaccine at a vaccination site in Times Square, United States, this month. The New York City Department of Health said those who received the vaccine were asked to repeat the injection.

A total of 899 people received doses of Pfizer's vaccine at the former NFL Experience building in Times Square between June 5 and June 10. They will get another Pfizer dose as soon as possible.

"We apologize for the inconvenience of those receiving the batch of vaccine in question and want people first and foremost to know that we have been informed that there is no harm from the vaccine they received," said ATC Vaccination Services, which is the company that administers the injections under New York City government contract, Tuesday (15/6).

Department of Health spokesman Patrick Gallahue said those on expired doses had received notifications. "Have received emails, phone calls and also sent letters to make sure they are aware of the situation," he said.
