Prince William and Harry Reunite to Unveil Princess Diana Statue

After Prince Philip's funeral, Prince William and Prince Harry are scheduled to meet again this Thursday. The two will jointly inaugurate the statue of their late mother, Princess Diana.

UMMATIMES - The inauguration will take place at Sunken Park, Kensington Castle. The inauguration coincided with what was supposed to be Princess Diana's 60th birthday celebration.

"Our mother has touched many lives. We hope this statue will help those who come to Kensington Castle remember her," Prince William and Prince Harry said in a joint statement on Thursday, July 1, 2021.

For the record, Prince William and Prince Harry were the ones who asked for the statue of their mother to be made. The two requested it in 2017, to be exact on the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana's death. They want the memory of Princess Diana to be immortalized through the erection of her statue.

In addition to taking the initiative to remove the statue, the two also asked for Sunken Park to be reorganized to complete the inauguration. The Historic Royal Palace (HRP) became the institution that was entrusted with the task, including selecting 4000 of Diana's favorite flowers such as tulips, dahlias, and lavender.

Kensington Castle was one of Princess Diana's favorite places during her life. Prince William and Prince Harry were also raised there.
