UK Considers France Signing Travel Ban

British ministers are considering putting France on a travel red list due to concerns over the Beta variant of Covid-19. This was reported by the Daily Telegraph newspaper.

UMMATIMES - The proposal was discussed Wednesday as part of an international travel review by officials. The ministers agreed to monitor the situation.

The Beta variant of the coronavirus was first identified in South Africa. The UK red list is the countries that are subject to the most stringent travel restrictions. People arriving from countries on the list are required to undergo quarantine upon return.

France is currently on the list of countries at moderate risk. In dealing with the pandemic situation, the UK made a travel policy by classifying countries into three levels: countries that are on the red, yellow and green lists.
