German citizens aged 30 years and under are advised to use the Biontech/Pfizer Vaccine

The German advisory committee (STIKO) on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, recommended that citizens under the age of 30 only get the Biontech/Pfizer brand of coronavirus vaccine. This is because the Biontech/Pfizer vaccine causes less inflammation of the heart in young people than the Moderna brand vaccine.

Ummatimes - STIKO also recommends pregnant women to only be injected with the Biontech/Pfizer brand of corona virus vaccine, regardless of age. The recommendations are based on data from the Paul Ehrlich Institute (PEI) and the latest international data. PEI is the authority in Germany responsible for vaccine affairs.

Several countries in the European Union have recommended limiting the use of the Moderna brand of coronavirus vaccine among young people.

PEI data shows that for the Moderna brand of corona virus vaccine, the average rate of heart inflammation is around 11.71 per 100 thousand injections in men in the 18-29 year age group. As for the Biontech/Pfizer brand of corona virus vaccine, the figure obtained was around 4.68 or much less than Moderna.

As for women, the average rate of heart inflammation due to the Moderna brand corona virus vaccine was 2.95 and 0.97 for the Biontech/Pfizer brand Covid-19 vaccine, respectively.

Earlier this week, French Public Health authorities recommended that people under the age of 30 be given Pfizer injections instead of the Moderna brand of coronavirus vaccine. Finland and Sweden have also restricted the use of the Moderna brand of coronavirus vaccine.

In Germany there are a total of 4,844,054 confirmed cases of the coronavirus. Meanwhile, the death toll from Covid-19 was 96,963 people, after the addition of 236 Covid-19 patients who died.
