Guinea Authorizes Use of Corona Virus Vaccine for Children and Adolescents

Guinea will start immunizing the coronavirus vaccine for children and adolescents aged 12-17 years. The Guinean Ministry of Health on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, announced that the vaccines to be used in children and adolescents are Pfizer and Moderna brands.

Ummatimes - Most countries in Africa rely on the Covax program to get a coronavirus vaccine. There are still a few Africans who have received an injection of the corona virus vaccine.

In late October and early November 2021, Guinea received a supply of Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna coronavirus vaccines. The Guinean Health Administration did not say how many doses they received.

Previously, Guinea had received 194,400 doses of the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine under the Covax program. Guinea also purchased and received donations of the Covid-19 vaccine from China.

As many as 9 percent of Guinea's population has just received two doses of the coronavirus vaccine. So far, the country has distributed at least 2,276,474 doses of the coronavirus vaccine.

The death toll from Covid-19 in Guinea is 387. while the positive number of Covid-19 there was 30,709 cases.
