Miss Universe Russia Participates in Promoting the 10 New Bali Book

Miss Universe 2002 from Russia, Oksana Fedorova, participated in promoting the book the 10 New Bali in Russian, Monday (15/11). The book was launched by the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow, Russia.

“While serving as Miss Universe in 2002, I had the opportunity to visit Indonesia. Ummatimes - Oksana expressed joy at the honor given to her for being the first Russian citizen in Moscow to receive the Russian edition of the 10 New Bali in person. The book was handed over by the Indonesian Ambassador to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, Jose Tavares.

"The launch of the 10 New Bali book which has been translated into Russian is an effort to bring Indonesia closer to the Russian people, considering that so far the Russian people are more familiar with Bali," said Tavares when opening the book launch event.

In 2019 the number of Russian tourists visiting Indonesia was almost 160,000 people and the number decreased drastically in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, it is recorded that 5,000 Russian citizens currently choose to stay and be in Bali during the pandemic.

"Although the two-year pandemic has reduced Russian visits to Indonesia, we continue to try to introduce the 10 New Bali to Russian audiences. Hopefully Covid-19 will slow down soon so that Russian citizens can visit Indonesia again," Tavares added.

The 266-page Russian edition of the 10 New Bali is a translation of the second edition of the book published into English. This book also has a QR-code.

"The QR-code innovation provides Russian readers with access to more detailed information on history, accommodation, and references to a large and attractive investment potential for Russian investors, particularly with regard to tourism support facilities in the 10 New Bali destinations," said Tavares.

The 10 New Bali book in Russian features photos that capture the colors, natural beauty and cultural diversity of the 10 New Balis, which are 10 new tourist destinations outside Bali, which was launched by President Joko Widodo in 2017. The 10 destinations are Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Belitung Island, Tanjung Lesung in Banten, the Thousand Islands in DKI Jakarta, Borobudur Temple in Central Java, Mount Bromo in East Java, Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara, Komodo Island in East Nusa Tenggara. , Wakatobi National Park in Southeast Sulawesi, and Morotai in North Maluku.

Also congratulating the book launch was the President Director of PT. Borobudur National Park, Prambanan and Ratu Boko, Edy Setijono. Through a video message, Edy expressed his hope that the presence of this book can increase the presence of Russian citizens to Borobudur Temple, a world cultural heritage protected by UNESCO and one of the 10 New Bali destinations.

Nataliya Rudakova from tour operator TUI (Fun and Sun Expert website) said that the 10 New Bali book will open up a lot of new knowledge about Indonesia for her company. “I and the Russian people are generally more familiar with Bali as a world tourist destination. Through the launch of this book, I became more familiar with other destinations in Indonesia. I will definitely write about this on our website,” Nataliya said.

Another participant, Alisa Klimantovich, a senior journalist for Russia's Big Asia TV, said that the Russian edition of the 10 New Bali brings a lot of information and new perspectives on Indonesian tourist destinations to the Russian people. “For Russian citizens, Indonesia is a very amazing country.
