Spain cuts Covid-19 isolation period

The Spanish Ministry of Health has reduced the isolation period for people infected with the coronavirus from 10 to seven days. Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 infection cases in the Matador Country broke a new record.

Ummatimes - This decision was also taken by several other countries such as the United States and Britain. The policy was taken in a meeting between the Spanish Minister of Health Carolina Darias and the heads of the regional government's health sector.

Lack of staff due to the long isolation period has caused disruption to a number of industries. Even though there are many people who are positive for Covid-19 but do not experience any symptoms.

The Ministry of Health has also reduced the mandatory quarantine period for those who have close contact with people who are positive for Covid-19 to seven days. Darias said the number of people allowed to watch sports matches would also be reduced.

Until Tuesday (28/12), the number of corona virus infections reached a new record of 1,360 cases per 100,000 people. Up from the previous day which was 1,206 cases per 100 thousand people. This figure marks a fivefold increase since early December.
